Mercedes is a brand that exudes luxury, and when it comes to producing high-end cars, they have the formula down to a T. In touch with what buyers want and need, Mercedes always goes to great lengths to keep their loyal fanbase satisfied, and if that means creating new models that will cater to small niches within the automotive market, then that's what they'll do. In fact, the company is already considering offering a four-door coupe variant of its upcoming C-Class series to cater to select buyers. Mercedes Research and Development Chief Thomas Weber recently dropped the news, exciting fans everywhere who'd love to get behind the wheel of a C-Class four-door coupe.
In a recent interview with Auto Express, Weber gave a few details about the next C-Class model's collection of body styles, which will include a two-door coupe and convertible. He did not directly mention a four-door coupe, but when asked if it was a possibility he said, "Yes, there is room between the CLA and the CLS - we are intensively looking at remaining niches that will provide us with profitability and growth." If a C-Class four-door coupe does come into fruition, it could rival the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, giving buyers another model to choose from in a small niche.
There's no guarantee the next C-Class will feature a four-door coupe variant, but we're keeping our fingers crossed for some good news. The all-new Mercedes C-Class will be available Elite Mercedes when it's released nationwide, but until then, you can check out the current 2014 C-Class and take it for a test-drive!
