To win a medal at this year's Sochi Winter Olympics was enough of an honor for any athlete, but Russia was so overjoyed with their medalists that they felt they deserved an additional token of appreciation - a brand-new car! Following the conclusion of the Sochi Winter Olympics, each of Russia's gold, silver and bronze medalists were given a luxurious Mercedes-Benz to enjoy along with their cash earnings. A total of 45 cars were handed out by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev for Team Russia's 33 medals.
Each of the Russian medalists were in disbelief over the news that they would be awarded with a brand-new Mercedes, leaving them all surprised and in complete awe when the car keys were handed out. All gold medalists received a Mercedes GL-Class, each silver medalist was presented with a Mercedes ML and the bronze medalists took home a Mercedes GLK. For the medalists who are too young to drive, a driver was also provided along with their Mercedes, giving them the ability to go anywhere at any time and without any hassles.
