The Maybach name has been resurrected once again by Daimler and this time the imprint is expected to appear on three upcoming sedans. Although there have been rumors about a possible GL-based Maybach SUV, the company is denying one is in the works. Maybach versions of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan are their main focus for the time being; however, Mercedes sales and marketing chief Ola Kaellenius said he wouldn't 'rule anything out' for the future.

The first Mercedes-Maybach S-Class to debut on the market is the S600. Equipped with a 6.0L V-12 twin-turbocharged engine, the model, which was introduced at this year's LA Auto Show, is able to produce 530 horsepower. An S550 backed by a V-8 engine will be the second model to make up the S-Class and an S400 4MATIC will be the third. This variant will come with all-wheel drive and feature a 3.0L V-6 engine.

Following its initial revival in 2002, the Maybach brand was shut down by Daimler in 2013. In recent months, the company has decided to reuse the name as Mercedes-Maybach for a new S-Class line. At this time, there has been no official word as to when the new models will roll off the assembly line, but we expect to receive news soon.
