The jaw-dropping Mercedes-AMG GT hasn't even hit the market yet, but that hasn't stopped Mercedes from thinking about the car's future. While most AMG models exist for a short period time before a new AMG variant replaces it, the AMG-GT isn't going away anytime soon. And to prove it, Mercedes is already planning to release a Black Series of the popular car, rumored to debut sometime in 2018.

Mercedes AMG head honcho Tobias Moers revealed the news about the Black Series at a recent AMG GT event in Paris. A step up from the current AMG GT, the Black Series will feature first-class performance and produce more power than the standard GT, making it a force to be reckoned with on the track. Aside from the Black Series and upcoming GT S, Moers also recently confirmed that additional models will eventually join the GT lineup. A convertible variant could be in the works if rumors prove to be true, but no confirmation has been given at this time.

Scheduled to have a seven- to eight-year run, the Mercedes-AMG GT is here to stay. If you want to get a glimpse of other high-end models in Mercedes' lineup, check out our excellent selection at Elite Mercedes.
