What's New for the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC?
This year, the range has expanded to include the 2018 Mercedes-AMG® GLC 63, which boasts a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine, churning up to 469 horsepower and offering 479 lb-ft of torque.
Across the board, these vehicles now come standard with a heated windshield wiper system. Also standard is the previously optional Storage package, which includes rear-seat release switches in the SUV's cargo area. Smartphone integration is now available across the board as well and AMG® vehicles offer the option to add a sport exhaust system and a new Track Pace App, which syncs with your iPhone in real-time to track your vehicle's performance.

Trims & Features
The new GLC SUV is available in two styling packages. The GLC 300 AMG® Line boasts 19-inch wheels, sporty brakes, and a muscular, chiseled shape. The Night Package cloaks these same luxury features in glossy black accents. Both packages offer you the ability to upgrade to 20-inch wheels. In terms of features, this Mercedes-Benz has an system that automatically shuts off the SUV's engine at stoplights and other idling situations, which helps to both save fuel and cut down on emissions. The engine then restarts automatically when the driver lifts his or her foot off the brake.
On the console, you'll find a multimode drive program selector, which allows you to choose from four driving modes: ECO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+. Each mode alters the throttle response, shift points, steering effort, and climate control efficiency. A fifth "individual" mode is also available, which essentially allows you to create a driving mode all your own, including the ability to set the transmission for manual shifting.

Safety
The 2018 GLC offers several impressive safety features, including collision prevention assist plus, which uses radar to monitor closing speeds as well as distances between your SUV and the other vehicles moving around it. If the system detects that a collision is likely to occur, it will help the driver apply the vehicle's brakes in order to prevent it.
This model also comes with an attention awareness module, which issues both an audible and visual alarm when the driver shows signs of drowsiness or inattention, and crosswind assistance, detecting wind gusts and counteracting them with targeted braking to prevent the car from drifting out of its lane.
Other safety features include a rearview camera, LED daytime running lamps and taillamps, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and seven airbags dispersed across its five-passenger seating.
