It's been a long road, but after months of deliberations, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class has officially been named the 2015 World Car of the Year! Labeled a trendsetter in the premium midsize segment, the C-Class has become known for its luxurious design, innovative technological features and top-of-the-line driving dynamics, which appeal to drivers globally, leading to its success across all markets.
The brand-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class builds on the legacy of the nameplate, and continues to offer first-class comfort and a pleasurable driving experience. It's one of the best cars you can buy in the sport-luxury class and surpasses competition.
"Taking its design and technological cues from the S-Class, the C-Class employs an all-new aluminum/steel hybrid platform and updated rear-drive powertrains that delivers levels of refinement, luxury, safety, ride and handling that challenge best-in-class," said jurors of the World Car Awards.
The overall benefits of the C-Class helped the car beat out all 23 candidates up for the World Car of the Year award. In the final stage, it came down to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Ford Mustang and Volkswagen Passat, with the C-Class eventually coming out on top.
In addition to the C-Class winning World Car of the Year, the Mercedes-AMG GT was named World Performance Car of the Year and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe was appointed World Luxury Car of the Year.
