The 2026 Mercedes-Benz G-Class doesn't have major changes from the previous model year. The 2026 G-Class continues to stand out as one of the brand's most iconic vehicles. The G-Class originated as a military vehicle, and over the years, it has retained its original design and utility while accommodating the needs of contemporary owners and occupants. The 2026 G-Class has a luxurious cabin with the latest technology and powerful engines, along with respectable off-road capabilities.
What Are the 2026 G-Class Trims & Features?
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is available in three trim levels: G 550, AMG G 63, and G 580.
The base trim in the lineup is the G 550. Even though it's the base model, this trim is equipped with plenty of creature comforts and amenities. On the outside, the G 550 comes with running boards and a brush guard for off-roading expeditions. A sunroof is standard, along with heated seats in the first and second rows and three-zone climate control. The driver's seat has memory settings, and both front seats are power-adjustable. A heated steering wheel is also standard. The base trim's technology includes a wireless phone charging pad, a Burmester sound system, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and a separate 12.3-inch digital instrument screen.
The AMG G 63 is next. Along with a stronger engine, this trim has upgraded AMG brakes, larger 20-inch wheels, custom leather upholstery, and unique styling accents.
The top trim, which is the G 580 with EQ Technology, is the top trim level and the only one that's fully electric. This trim features low-range gearing and trim-specific wheels. Instead of a spare tire, it is equipped with an additional storage box.
How Much Horsepower Does the 2026 G-Class Have?
The G 550 uses a turbo V6 engine and a 48V battery to produce 443 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. The G 63 has an upgraded turbo V8 engine that also pairs with an electric motor to generate up to 577 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. The G 580 with EQ Technology has four electric motors. Collectively, they produce 579 horsepower and 859 pound-feet of torque.
What Safety Features Does the 2026 G-Class Include?
The G-Class is equipped with forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, blind-spot warning, automatic braking, rear cross-traffic warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assist, a driver attention monitoring system, a surround-view camera, and automated parking.
