Rumor has it that Mercedes-AMG is currently working on adding a new model to the AMG GT lineup: the Mercedes-AMG GT R. The new high-performance model will join the existing AMG GT and AMG GT S, serving as the latest top-of-the-line option in the AMG GT roster. Also said to be in the works over at AMG is a new E63, which will be based on the soon-to-be-released fifth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

According to news circulating around the automotive industry, the upcoming AMG GT R, expected to arrive in a year, will feature more power, a four-wheel steering system, adjustable spool-valve shocks, active aerodynamic elements and high-speed stability. No other information has been reported about the new model, but you're sure to find other new components when it arrives, including a luxurious cabin and upgraded brakes to support its performance enhancements. The all-new E63 is also expected to receive a few modifications in the form of a new all-wheel drive system, a new nine-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 4.0L engine as replacement for the previously available 5.5L twin-turbo V8. This change in displacement will lower the car's weight and improve performance.
