Mercedes has started 2015 off with a bang, displaying a 15-percent sales increase for the month of January compared to last year. Demand for the brand's vehicles has also risen 14 percent, putting Mercedes on track to reaching 5-percent revenue growth for 2015. This also puts the automaker in a good position to achieve its long-term plan to surpass other automakers in the luxury car segment, becoming the number one brand for high-end vehicles.
With its current lineup of outstanding new models, which includes the S-Class sedan, Mercedes is currently heading down the right path to obtaining the top spot in the luxury segment by 2020. The C-Class sedan alone was in high demand during the month of January - deliveries rose to 50 percent and sport-utility cars began to sell rapidly, showcasing a 37-percent sales increase. Just in the U.S., Mercedes' sales rose 8.9 percent. China and Europe reported an increase of nearly 15 percent and Russia's sales were up 16 percent. As long as this pattern continues to occur as the year continues, Mercedes will keep going in a positive direction and eventually dominate the luxury car segment, outshining each and every one of its competition.
