Join your family, friends and neighbors in celebrating America's favorite holiday by taking part in all the fun-filled activities in our fair city.
For starters, there will be a “Firecracker” 5k run/walk on the morning of July 4 at 9:05 a.m. Next up, your kids or grandchildren can take part in the half-mile run that begins at 10 a.m. To register, please arrive in front of Club Fit 30 minutes before the runs begin. When you’re done, make your way to College Memorial Park, where you’ll find a slew of other healthy games taking place, including co-ed volleyball, bean bag and horseshoe tournaments starting at 1 p.m. Refreshments and food can be purchased at the concession stand.
Of course, the biggest event of the day is the annual fireworks show, which will once again light up the night sky over Lake Springfield Marina at dusk. Other highlights include at the marina include a dunk tank, face painting and various inflatables.
