The competitive pickup truck market just got a lot more competitive. Mercedes-Benz recently unveiled its first ever pickup truck at an art gallery in Stockholm, Sweden. Blending luxury with utility, we anticipate that this truck will be a big game changer for the truck industry.

Mercedes-Benz showed off two models of the truck, named the X-Class. The first one had a green exterior paint job and was fitted for off-road use. The second had a wood-trimmed cabin with white exterior paint. The vehicle’s face features an avant-garde grille and huge wheels.

The top-ranging model is powered by a brawny V6 diesel engine that pushes power to all four wheels of the vehicle. When the automaker first made it publicly known that it was going to develop a pickup truck, the company said it would have a payload capacity of 2,200 pounds; a little more than what midsize trucks in the U.S. can currently haul. The luxurious workhorse is not expected to go on sale in the U.S.; however, that is not a guarantee.
