Mercedes-Benz USA Gets a New CEO
Mercedes-Benz recently announced that Dimitris Psillakis is stepping down as CEO of MBUSA and taking on the role of Senior Strategic Advisor. As of July 1st, the CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA will be Adam Chamberlain. Chamberlain is also taking on the role of Head of Marketing and Sales, Mercedes-Benz Cars North America.
Mathias Geisen, a Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Marketing and Sales, made the big announcement recently. He explains, "We're excited to welcome Adam back to Mercedes-Benz. Adam is a proven executive with over 30 years of global automotive experience including the past nine years in the U.S." He adds that, "At the same time, we're extremely grateful to Dimitris for his commitment and impact, and we're pleased that his insights will continue to guide our strategy in his advisory role throughout the end of the year."
Dimitris Psillakis will exit his role as CEO on July 1 and shift to Senior Strategic Advisor. Psillakis has 33 years at Mercedes-Benz and has worked in leadership positions in South America, Asia, Europe, and the USA. He was Head of Sales for North America in 2020.
The incoming CEO, Adam Chamberlain, was formerly serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at a large North American group (Lithia & Driveway). He took on responsibility for over 300 American dealerships and more than $30 billion in revenue. As he rejoins Mercedes-Benz, he'll lead 16,000 employees and work with over 380 dealer partners in the United States. He'll also have a hand in working with 59 dealerships in Canada. Chamberlain currently lives in Atlanta with his beloved family.
