What's New for the 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

With exceptional performance and driveability, a striking profile in all body styles, ample interior and trunk spaces, and loads of comfort and safety features, very few people still consider the C-Class to be Mercedes-Benz entry-level vehicle. The model provides a variety of powerful engines, high-quality materials inside and out, impeccable craftsmanship, and customizing and upgrading options galore.

2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Interior

Only three years after a complete refurbishment, the C-Class introduces new styling and performance tweaks. For 2018, Mercedes-Benz simplifies some option packages and installs AMG® Track App in all AMG® models. There are also changes to standard and optional equipment: sedans receive power moonroof standard, coupe models get a rearview camera standard, the C 350e benefits from standard LED headlights, and cabriolet models include a standard wood trim. The AMG® Performance Studio package and Designo Selenite Grey Magno paint are now options on coupes and cabriolets. Additionally, the C 300 and C 300 4MATIC® get 18-inch five-spoke split wheels and a new nine-speed transmission instead of last year's seven-speed auto.

Trims & Features

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is available in sedan, coupe, and convertible body styles and offers five trim options, base C 300, C 300 4MATIC® (AWD), AMG® C 43, AMG® C 63, and AMG® C 63 S. A new hybrid C 350e trim is only available as a sedan.

17-inch wheels, a rearview camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, automatic wipers, 10-way power front seats, a sunroof, simulated leather upholstery, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and folding rear seatbacks are standard on the C-Class sedan (and C-Class 4MATIC®).

In the tech department, the C-Class sedan installs the COMAND® infotainment system with a console-mounted dial controller and a 7-inch central display screen, Bluetooth® connectivity, a CD player, an SD card reader, dual USB ports, and HD radio.

The C-Class coupe adds 18-inch wheels to the same list. The C-Class convertible receives Mercedes-Benz AIRSCARF® system, a removable wind blocker and a power-folding fabric top alongside the named features. LED headlights and an air-spring suspension are standard on the C 350e.

Optional features include blind-spot monitoring, push-button start, keyless entry, an electronic trunk closer, satellite radio and an upgraded Burmester sound system (on coupes and convertibles only). Additionally, there are stand-alone features and packages for lighting, multimedia, smartphone integration, parking assists, and driver assists.


2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class ExteriorA turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4 engine worth 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque powers all 2018 Mercedes-Benz C 300 and C 300 4MATIC® models regardless of body style. The hybrid C 350e model combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4 and an electric motor to produce 275 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. It runs for 9 miles on EV and returns up to 51 mpg-e combined fuel efficiency.

The AMG® C 43 employs a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that pushes out 362 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. The AMG® C 63 harnesses 469 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 while the range-topping AMG® C 63 S ups the ante with 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque from the same engine. All models use a nine-speed automatic apart from the hybrid with fits a seven-speed auto.


2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class RearThe 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class received the NHTSA's highest five-star rating. The IIHS regards it as a Top Safety Pick because it scored the highest rating of "Good" in five crash tests and a rating of "Superior" in frontal collision prevention and mitigation. The new C-Class bundles a plethora of driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, PRESAFE® Plus, and blind spot, brake, Active Lane Keeping and speed limit assists.
