What's New for the 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class

For the 2025 model year, the G-Class gets just a few updates to retain its competitive edge among its peers. The G-Class belongs to a small but competitive group of cars called "super luxury SUVs." The G 580 with EQ Technology features an electric powertrain and fast-charging equipment. Low-range gearing is included with this trim level, and it is powered by four electric motors.

A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard. The AMG G 63 also has a hybrid powertrain, but it uses a V8 turbo engine that produces 577 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. The top trim level has an electric powertrain that uses electric motors along with a 116-kWh battery. This system produces 527 horsepower and 859 pound-feet of torque. The electric G-Class gets about 239 miles of electric range based on EPA estimates.

Which Safety Features Does the 2025 G-Class Have?

The G-Class has numerous safety features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, a panoramic camera, automated parking, and a driver attention warning system.
