Mercedes-Benz USA Shares Leadership Change Announcement

3727 S Campbell Ave Springfield, MO 65807
There have been many instances of customers bringing their vehicle into our Elite Mercedes dealership in Springfield, with complaints of an overheating engine. New technology in cars these days makes it pretty easy to tell when the temperature under your hood isn't quite what it should be. When we pull your vehicle into our shop, we'll take a look at some of the most common reasons for an overheating engine.
Unfortunately, your cooling system malfunctioning doesn't necessarily mean that we know what's going on the first second that we pop your hood. There are many components to this system, but we assure you that we'll make sure everything is functioning correctly. This includes your water pump, radiator, hoses, valves, fans, and much more.
To provide adequate amounts of coolant to your vehicle while the engine is running, your water pump will help move things long. Issues can occur with your water pump when damage to the unit itself has occurred. There could also be issues with various hoses and connectors in that area of your vehicle.
Radiator fans help the flow of air through your engine to cool off hot temperature, but you also have coolant that runs through your radiator and engine. A few things can go wrong with loose connections, leaks, fans that aren't moving correctly, etc.
Coolant levels need to be kept at the recommended level for temperatures to be regulated. The valve that's on the inside of your thermostat will allow coolant to pass through as needed. When we hear that your engine is overheating, we'll take a look to see if this valve is functioning the way it was intended. Otherwise, coolant levels may not be appropriate.
Service technicians at Elite Mercedes check for belts that have slipped off the track, as well as broken hoses that could be leaking coolant and other fluids onto the road. This is typically an easy fix, but it's best that we catch this kind of problem early on before it causes damage to your engine.
If you notice the temperature on your thermostat gauge climbing higher than normal, it's time to make an appointment with Elite Mercedes. We would be happy to check out your cooling system to ensure that everything is in working order.
