The massage functions even function alongside lighting and music beats to keep front passengers fully relaxed. Other upscale features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and soft, supple leather seating. Interior air filtration and automatic climate control help maintain the perfect cabin atmosphere. This luxury SUV introduces two new engines for the 2020 model year. Both are mated to the same nine-speed automatic transmission for a seriously smooth ride and quick responses to your input.

The base GLE 350 and GLE 350 4Matic models feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, so you'll never feel short on speed. None that the GLE 4Matic comes standard with the Mercedes-Benz all-wheel drive system for a sportier performance.

When you upgrade to the GLE 450 4Matic, you'll find a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six under the hood. It pumps out 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, giving you the line's fastest ride. This inline-six engine is also paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system that Mercedes-Benz is calling EQ Boost. This new system powers the starter and optional adaptive suspension. EQ Boosts adds an extra 21 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque for an incredibly sporty performance.

Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Safety Features

The GLE comes standard with an impressive array of passenger safety features. Blind-spot monitoring technology helps keep you from sideswiping other drivers as you switch lanes. When it detects an oncoming crash, the Pre-Safe Sound plays pink noises to prepare your ear for the loud sound of collision.

Optional safety features include the Evasive Steering Assist system, which helps drivers avoid a dangerous obstacle, even at higher speeds. This technology boosts the steering response to help you successfully outmaneuver danger.
