What's New for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS?

The EQS is an electric-powered luxury vehicle that arrives for the first time in 2022. The EQS is a sedan with comfortable seating, many advanced safety aids, and premium technology. The Mercedes EQS has many great features from front to back. It includes a star-studded front fascia for a dazzling and unique appearance, and it also has an open grille design that adds to its futuristic look. The EQS emphasizes clean lines inside and out with a sculpted exterior and a modern cabin. A large 56-inch instrument panel is available on the Mercedes for infotainment and audio.

2022 EQS Trims & Features

There are three trim levels produced in the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS. The lineup includes:

  • 450+
  • 480+
  • 580 4Matic

The 450+, which is the base sedan, achieves a top speed of 130 MPH. It has an ambient interior light and a keyless start system. This trim, along with the others, comes with Mercedes' own infotainment system called MBUX. This multimedia system has voice controls and keyword activation technology. Wireless phone charging is standard, and the Mercedes also has wireless smartphone integration.

Active ambient lighting is added to the second trim level, which is the 480+. The mid-level trim also has six USB-C charging ports and power open and closing doors. A customizable sound system is also included. The standard infotainment system on the first two trim levels is a 12.3-inch touchscreen, while the top trim level can be ordered with a hyperscreen that includes the base touchscreen plus another 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch central OLED touchscreen.

 

Along with the available MBUX hyperscreen display, the top trim level gets its own separate engine for enhanced power output. It also has a personalized home screen configuration and supports voice commands in up to 27 languages. The top trim levels get up to 64 colors for its interior ambient lighting, and it has a digital light with a lightband. The seats in the top trim have a multi-contour design. They are also heated and made of leather.

All three trims use a 107.8 kWh battery. They have an AC charger that charges the battery in 11.25 hours and a DC charger with a charging time of 31 minutes. The first two trims have an engine capable of 329 HP, while the top trim produces 516 HP with a more powerful engine.

Safety technology in the Mercedes includes active lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, pre-collision avoidance, and parking assist.
